Stone Roses - Elephant Stone

The Stone Roses revolutionized British pop. Our days before them had been dark and dingy. People were cool too scared to take a pot shot at the mainstream, the underground, apparently, was fading away, leaving the tables dominated by the vile scum of the eighties' pop brigade.

The Stone Roses were the most legendary band in the late 1980s. Changed the British pop by putting a band of street cool again in the mainstream, pop and guitars that made it cool again. They were part of his time, but will also be a catalyst for the future. They took trad guitar music and breathed new life into it, and when it is put to 'Fools Gold' that practically invented the 1990s perfect pop record.

The band of the original line consisted of Ian Brown (vocals), John Squire (guitar), Andy Couzens (guitar), Pete Garner (bass) and Alan "Reni" Wren (drums). Couzens and Garner left in 1987. Couzens position became vacant and Garner was replaced by Gary "Mani" Mounfield in 1987, and the band completed the most visible of the line. Reni that depart in 1995 and was replaced by Robbie Maddix, and a year later Squire departed and was replaced by Ibrahim Aziz. Nigel Ippinson joined the band in 1995.

Discography
* The Stone Roses (1989)
* Second Coming (1994)

Burst into heaven, Kissing the cotton clouds
Arctic sheets and fields of wheat, I cant stop coming down
Your shrunken head, Looking down on me above
Send me home like an elephant stone, To smash my dream of love
Dreaming till the sun goes down, And night turns into day
Rooms are empty Ive got plenty, You could move in right away

It seems like theres a hole
In my dreams (3x)

Down through the heavens, Choke on the cotton clouds
Arctic sheets and fields of wheat, I cant stop coming down
Your shrunken head, Looking down on me above
Send me home like an elephant stone, To smash my dream of love
Did your bed and bookshelf go, And run run run away
These four walls saw the rise and fall, And your midnight getaway
Seems like theres a hole, In my dreams
Or so it seems, Yet nothing means anything
Anymore
